Æriakh Academy

The foremost in science and all things astronomy the Æriakh Academy hold classes of less than 100 new students of which only 20 to 30 will find themselves in the final years of their studies and of those 20 to 30 only around 10 will graduate. This success rate is not due to arbitrary standards or useless lessons made to remove applicants but is instead due to the high stress and knowledge capacity required of those applicant. Those who graduate from this academy are often sought after for employment of any kind as simply mentioning that one of them is working for you elevates your status and the status of your company. Most students who do not graduate but make it to the last years of their studies can also find many jobs that were once closed to them. Be it for their status not being high enough or their prior capabilities not being up to par.
On average Æriakh may receive thousands of applicants. Of these applicants they are first sorted by age, then by aptitude, and finally by tuition or status. The age of the student is claimed to be the most important part of the applicant as this can often determine their ability to think outside the box and take on more information. This is not to say however that the school dismisses older candidates, only that it understands the need for development.
Students attending can expect at first a shared dormitory and in later years private dorms. With graduates having small cottages that can be rented or visited for the price of lectures. A full staff of chefs are utilized to provide a small variety to the students with an array of cultural dishes in their repertoire. An entirely separate section is maintained for cleaning and grounds staff of the academy though many question the need for groundskeepers when the school is surrounded by strange forest.
The Æriakh Academy host a clinic of sorts where people who would not be able to afford the magical care of a full practitioner can instead opt for "lesser" work done by the students for a margin of the cost. The same is true for herbs and medications as well as minor magical works in other fields. The profit generated by this clinic is used to fund a scholarship. This scholarship is used to provide transportation as well as room and board for students with high aptitude who may come from lesser families or far off locations.
