Flamefell

Just a few hours off the southeast coast of The Ethereal Nexus, a sprawling city sits against fields and plains. Its walls stand strong, evidence of sieges past scoring the solid stonework. Dotting the walls are towers that overlook the lands around, a clear view for those inside of any incoming threats. Vines lace in between the stones through the walls, climbing higher and higher, in some places seeming to hold the wall together. A large iron gate stands open, large braziers on either side unlit. A few small buildings litter the outskirts leading up to the city walls, crops and cattle nearby.   Seven large braziers remain perpetually lit, sitting quietly in the direct center of the city. Each fire is wrapped with a gentle pathway, lined with green grass and various colors of wildflowers. Statuettes lend their own unique beauty to each display, some lined in bronze, others in brass, all created to catch and reflect the fires burning near them.    Taking the north path, a large building looms over its neighbors. The warm wood frames several glass windows on this three story building, a heavy oak door serving as entrance and exit to all. Upon entering, a heavy desk with a single chair sits a few feet to the right of a staircase leading up. Oftentimes, a lone tabaxi male sits idly behind the desk, feet propped up, eyes seeming to watch only his blade that he tosses carelessly into the air. Still further right are several tables and chairs, message boards with various requests pinned to them, and a small fireplace. Few are able to ascend the stairs, somehow passing the stair's guardians.   Following the eastern path, a large estate borders the main throughfare. Several guards patrol the lanes with a few more posted inside the estate. Just beyond that lies a set of smaller shops and another estate - smaller than the first - on the left. A colorful building of cosmic swirls and magical enchantments can be seen from the cross-streets on the left.   Heading south leads to a library and the nearby Temple of Ioun. A small estate sits across from the temple, modest in all appearances, with nearly no visible guards. The library is large, dedicated to Ioun, and run by a family of gnomes. Barracks can be seen from the southernmost road, situated near a main trade route entrance.   In the west lies the city's cemetery, home to a local Flamefell myth. The myth gives tell to the large, chained crypt sitting in the graveyard, guarded by one of the five primary families of Flamefell. Not far from there resides another estate, well-guarded and well-kept. The Flaming Prince sits nearby, an inn of average repute, garnering business from a nearby bar. The final estate lies to the north of the inn, home to the caretakers of the crypt.
