Goblins

Goblins are one of the four intelligent races of Yull. They stand about five feet tall, and have blueish-to-greenish skin and long, pointy ears and noses. Goblins are ponderous but excitable, and often get involved in lengthy debates. Some goblins have learned to read the clouds, predicting the weather and other, more mysterious things. The goblins insist that it is the movement of the clouds that is magical rather than the goblins themselves, and yet no other species has nearly the level of mastery over the art that goblins do. In recent months, however, the clouds have stopped moving properly due to the fact that the world-soul--which was fueling their odd movement accross the sky--has gone missing. Goblins are highly inustrious, matched only in this regard by humans. They have built numerous settlements and cities all over the globe. Their capital, Zhaldirix, is the largest of these, Sprawling over several miles of plain of Oromun. The goblins take great pride in their accomplishments, and often decorate the with carvings and statues. Goblins can become channelers, though the ability is much rarer in their species than it is among humans. Because of this, and unlike humans, most high-ranking goblins, including all but one of the goblin ruling council, are not channelers. Goblin channelers are still heavily relied upon to serve civilization with their talents, and rarely have any difficulty finding work. The goblins are, as aforementioned, ruled over by a council. The said council consists of eleven members selected by voting, each from a different area. This helps the goblins ensure that all of their kind are given a word on the council's decisions. The council convenes in Zhaldirix.
