Forgers' Guild

The Forgers' Guild is a powerful union of artisans with members among the Council of Elders. It has the almost exclusive right to the production and distribution of Ironglass, guarantees high quality standards for products made with such material and sets prices for them. They protect the secret process involved in forging Ironglass, and have an armed branch, the Blue Daggers, that 'silences' those who try to spread the knowledge of this confidential information.

Structure

The guild has a meritocratic structure: on top of the hierarchy sitthe most skilled craftmans, and any important decision is made by a council of all the members that is summoned every two months.

Routine administration duties are taken care of by several secretarieeected during the previous council. Those duties include controllng that every member paid the right amount to the guild, making sure that the product quality is up to the standard and examining applications to open a workshop.

There is an armed branch of the guild known as the Blue Daggers that resorts to any mean necessary to protect te secret surrounding the forging process. Their actions may include silencing someone who wants to spread the secret outside Vapore, resorting to murder if needed, stopping the activity of the artisans who don't respect the guild standards, usually a warning is enough, but there are rumors about more 'drastical' measures, and protecting the members from criminal actions.

Public Agenda

Forgers' Guild maing goal is to control and protect the production of ironglass, and to keep the process involved in its refining and temper secret. The organisation also sets the prices and quality standards that its members must follow, and determines the quantity of ironglass to be produced and sold.

Assets

Since ironglass crafting is one the most important activities in Vapore, the Forger's Guild is a very powerful and wealthy organisation.

The guild's Headquarter is a large two story building with a courtyard in the middle, located in the old cIty district, but it also owns many buildings around the whole city.

It is difficult to etimate how many currency the guild has ammassed, but it i known that any forger that is under the guild's protection has to pay the 20th part of his earnings to the treasury, and there are around eight-hundred ironglass workshops.
