Trundlecart

A trundlecart is a small cart with a low bed, rugged all-terrain wheels, and a hitch at the front and back. Most notably, a trundlecart is shielded by a rounded canopy salvaged and shaped from near-impenetrable titan scrap. The trundlecart gets its name from this hard canopy, which may resemble chitin, bone, or shell from a titan slain by its fellows. Most scraps are not large, and so the trundlecarts are not large, hence the hitch to link them together in chains of cargo with low centers of gravity.   Trundlecarts are the best way to move goods in post-Shattering Harokin, being small, road-independent, and of course, protected by titan "flesh" from anything short of a natural disaster. The overall structure of the carts, where possible, is made of titan scrap, but more often all that is available is used for the canopy and the rest of the cart is hardwood and forged metal. The canopies and visible cart sides are usually camouflaged, either with colored paints or tanned hides and overlapping leaves.   Trundlecarts' small size make them not only maneuverable but surprisingly handleable for kinvari on foot; only somewhat larger than a wheelbarrow and significantly more balanced on four wheels, a single kinvar can pull a single trundlecart past all but the steepest slopes and roughest obstacles. Small beasts of burden, like goats or donkeys (or even larger hounds), can likewise easily handle a trundlecart as needed. The chain of carts is frequently "broken" by unhitching the carts and moving them individually past treacherous terrain.   Most of the engineering of the trundlecart has been done by gran'Duovari and was based on mine carts. Dwarf-forged steel and iron make for a sturdy skeleton, even when titan scrap is only reserved for the canopies.
