Arcanumb

Each language has its own terms for the magic-resistant. Arcanumb is a favorite of Hymvari.
People, creatures, or objects that are "arcanumb" are not simply without arcana; many of them have a normal amount of personal arcana, in fact. Rather, "arcanumb" refers to their ability to be affected by arcana in some external form. Most often, this term is used to indicate individuals or creatures that cannot be harmed by evocative elemental arcana, such as magical fire or ice. And most often, this term is used for Urkvari, who are, by and large, arcanumb.
(A person of any race may be arcanumb, of course, but it is considered a fluke and a rarity among the primary kinvaren races other than Urkvari.)
An arcanumb kinvar may take reduced damage from an arcane attack, or may take none; they may be impossible to translocate or subject to telekinesis (voluntarily or otherwise they may be resistant to arcane methods of healing, though anima-based healing is entirely unrelated and usually unaffected by arcanumbness. An arcanumb kinvar usually still has personal arcana and can be located through that individual pattern, but manipulation of their arcana will almost universally fail.
There are workarounds, of course; arcane fire may not burn an arcanumb kinvar, but real fire will, and arcana can be used to lob mundane fire quite easily. A mage may not be able to levitate an arcanumb kinvar, but they can levitate an object on which the arcanumb kinvar sits or stands. Arcane stitching may not work on flesh, but arcane telekinesis of a mundane needle and thread can work just as well for emergency sutures.
Most Urkvari being arcanumb does lend an edge of terror to the thought of a magic-using kinvar from one of the "civilized" races facing down an Urkvar in combat, though.
It is exceedingly difficult for an arcanumb kinvar to learn to use magic themselves, as "magic" is generally conceptualized as one's own arcana manipulating the arcana of the world/other people, and being arcanumb means you cannot manipulate your own arcana any more than the world can harm it.
