The Sun-Sorcerers

The story of the Sun Sorcerers is about a group of people who were bestowed incredible powers by the God of the Suns, Neoyar. They were forced to spend eternity guarding the hidden city that Neoyar lives in, protecting the precious valuables found deep in the catacombs underneath.

Summary

For years and years the God of the Suns, Neoyar would sit in his palace in a city in the middle of the desert, guarding his impressive hoard of rare treasures. He was angry that many people would try and steal his treasures.    So, he decided to do something about it. He gathered a bunch of soldiers, gave them powers, and they would spend eternity guarding the city and its valuables, while Neoyar stared at the desert with his blazing glare, making sure no one entered.    The Sun-Sorcerers were gifted great powers, to control light, the suns, and heat. They could conjure suns and contain them, and create weapons out of pure light and energy. The downside to the Sun-Sorcerers were that they were confined to the city, they could never leave. Even if they had families they hadn't said goodbye to, they were forced to stay in the city. They also lived forever, meaning an endless life of guarding this precious city.

Historical Basis

The first known observations of this city come from about 10,000 years ago, in many historical writings and texts, and many paintings have been made. Eventually, the stories started circling Sarra about this city, and word quickly spread. Sarrans began revolting against the God, for keeping people in his city without consent, for eternity. They believe it wasn't right, and they regularly sent out search parties looking for this city.

Spread

This legend is common amongst Sarrans, but is rarely spoken outside of the continent. It is studied in history and appears in textbooks in schools. The legend isn't really taken seriously amongst commonfolk, but is with traders and adventures. Some actively seek out this lost city, but fail trying.

Variations & Mutation

The number of sun-sorcerers frequently changes depending on who you hear it from. Most textbooks will tell you there were 7 sorcerers, but others say 6, 5, 8, up to 10.   People also believe the treasures were hidden in different places. Some people believe them to be under the throne, in a large dungeon guarded by a monster, others believe that it is hidden in one of the towers.
