Moon crystals are a precious resource linked to Lunamancy, or moon magic. When enough moon crystals are collected and their powers absorbed, the user has the ability to alter the time of day, from day-time to night-time.

Moon crystals only appear during nights of full moons. On many planets with populations of witches, full moon nights are a scramble to collect as many crystals as possible, for they serve many other valuable purposes.

As these crystals are in the shape of a crescent moon, collecting enough and forming a full moon will grant the user immense magical powers.

One of the main reasons witches create full moons out of these crystals is to give them the power of lunacommunication. This allows the user to communicate with luna spirits, powerful pseudo-deities.
