The Octarchium

The Octarchium is an unofficial assembly of wizards that have attained near divinity by each harnessing one of the eight Wells of Arcanum. The wells of arcanum are a remnant of the Age of Creation in which Egion, The Wellspring of Knowledge gifted arcane magic unto Yllshara. Each one is the source of a specific school of wizard magic.
Though most wizards are unaware of the member of the Octarchium that represents their school, all wizards can sense the general direction to their respective well of arcanum. A sense that gets stronger as they their magic improves. The Octarchium has no official political capacity and members rarely meet each other, but the members will occasionally ally with each other to achieve remarkable feats.
