Ziva Varem Viscouzi (Common Tinjongnian: zivɑ veɪrɜm vɪskuzi)
Kypir Ziva Varem Viscouzi, i
Ziva Varem Viscouzi "the Great" was an Ivanderi nobleman of the house of Viscouzi who founded the Zivian Kypirate in 582. His father, Nemus IV, was a Tyrant and Cylun of Ivandero.
Viscouzi War (576-582)
Prelude
Ziva had always been detached from his family as his mother, Zetra Lusamen died a year after he was born and his father immediately married and had two children with Yarra Maleti shortly after, eventually leading Ziva to despise him. Ziva never had a sibling bond, despite having 4 older siblings and he was seen as a threat by his older brothers since the young Ziva was positively seen by the people for his sympathy towards them. He spent most of his youth by himself except when he occasionally walked the city roads. In 571, Ziva's father, Cylun Nemus IV dies as the age of 57 and his 38-year-old eldest son Nemus becomes Cylun Nemus V.Ziva's Exile
In 576, Nemus V, the reigning Cylun of Ivandero exiles Ziva after his relations with Marra, a woman from the Vutrepi noble family, were discovered. The two fell in love two years ago when Ziva met Marra in Ivandero, who was in the city to trade on behalf of her family since they were not allowed in the city. The Vutrepi and Viscouzi families were historical enemies that had fought several wars in the recent past. Nemus V had wanted to get rid of Ziva, his youngest brother and a popular figure, so he accused Ziva of conspiring with the Vutrepis after discovering the relationship, and permanently exiled him from the city.Ziva in Ervan
Several months later, Cylun Mard III of Ervan dies and the Ervani people choose to elect Ziva as their Cylun, despite the threat of war with Ivandero by doing so. Before Nemus V can attack Ziva, Malta Etrea Viscouzi, the tyrannical Cylun of Mavum and Ziva's older sister, sieges Ervan in the winter of 576 with her army but fails to break Ervani defenses and is forced to fall back.Battle of Mavum
In the Spring of 577, Ziva attacks the City of Mavum, clashing with Malta's forces again and successfully defeating her due to her soldiers' and people's low morale. Ziva captures the city and Malta flees to Ivandero. After hearing what had transpired in the last few months, Nemus V and Talud (Ziva's brother and the Vairn of Aeron) form a coalition against Ziva and fight him in the fields of Mavum, but fail due to Ziva's numerical superiority provided by the forces of multiple settlements and Nemus V dies in the battle. Talud flees back to Aeron and fortifies its defenses in fear of Ziva's encroachment.Siege of Ivandero
After Nemus V's death, Malta became the reigning Cylun of Ivandero. She knew that a siege by Ziva was inevitable but could not properly allocate reosurces towards defenses as people had taken to the streets to protest. In mid 579, Ziva launches his siege on Ivandero which would last until he breaks through the city's defenses in early 580. Malta Viscouzi and his half-brother Nemus Atruda Viscouzi (who was Vairn of Verdi before being overthrown by its people) are captured in the siege and Ziva becomes de facto Cylun of Ivandero. In mid 581, Malta Viscouzi is beheaded for "crimes against the people."Sieges of Aeron and Goran
After Ziva's successful capture of Ivandero in 580, he set out to eliminate the rest of Nemus V's former allies, including his brother Talud who he had already fought and his sister Eltreba Vular Viscouzi (Ovair of Goran). In 581 and 582, Ziva captures both Aeron and Goran, along with his siblings Talud and Eltreba.Unification of the Southern Territories
In 582, on the fifth anniversary of the Battle of Mavum, Ziva, who is the de facto ruler of six cities and recognized by many settlements, including Tihja, as the hegemon of southern Emenazia, establishes the Kypirate of the United Southern Territories, with Vaint Eric VII of Tihja observing. The Cylunate of Ivandero is also dissolved and the City of Zivia is established several miles to the west of Ivandero. The country will be renamed to Ziviya by his successor. The Fate of the Viscouzis
In late 583, Eltreba and Talud Viscouzi, who are both despised by the people, are sentenced to be beheaded on the same day by Ziva. Marra Vutrepi, who is now married to Ziva, gives birth to Marr Ziva Viscouzi in 584. Ziva's step-mother, Yarra would die in the same year. Ziva's half-brother Nemus Altruda Viscouzi is beheaded in 589. Ziva killed 5 out of 6 of his siblings, with his youngest half-brother, Nemur Buloa Viscouzi being the only survivor, living a long life and dying with no children in 638 at the age of 81.Later Life and Death
Ziva would allocate large amounts of resources into building the City of Zivia and encouraging immigration to the city from other settlements to ensure its success as the capital of his Kypirate. He'd live to see the birth of his grandson, Ziva II, and would live until the age of 68, dying in 621.Personality Characteristics
