History
Old Syria (4th - 9th century)
The Old Syrians were a group of Tytherio-Tins (people who were a mix between native Tytherians and Island Tins) that lived on the island of Syvona in the 1st millenium AY. They established the Kypirate of Syria, which had consolidated most of the territory on the island until the 8th century AY when the Kypirate fragmented into multiple states.Grand Principality of Syria (848-1087)
Eventually, the Loveurate (Grand Principality) of Syria would come dominate the western side of the island with its capital at Lyenova. It was lead by the Yima Family and constantly clashed with the other oveurates in the east. Loveur Divel Yima would lead the Western Syrians in the "Syrian War of Princes" (Syērē Sérton vóh'Óvyerē) in the 1080s. After thousands of deaths, Loveur Divel would sign the Treaty of Veniji in 1081, ending the war without any land being given up by either side, but with the promise the the I'isah Oveurates would eventually reintegrate into Syria, and they would.Independent Kingdom (1087-1786)
In 1087, the drafting and signature of the Union of 738 AS (Tinjongnian: Hemidē vó 1087 AY) between Loveur Divel and the 5 Oveurs of I'isah would create the Kingdom of Syvona, famously abolishing Syria's male-only succession laws and replacing them with absolute primogenture. The first regnant queen, Jara would come to reign for a year in 1192. The era of royal Syvonan rule would be infamous for several crises that insued due to monarchs dying shortly after inhertiing the throne, with the greatest crisis occuring between 1548 and 1563 when 5 monarchs died within the span of 15 years. It would end with the reign of Altai II who would reign from 1563 to 1616. Syvona would be an important ally in the Third Tinjongnian-Xivenyu War (1617-1618), helping facilitate Tinjongnian naval dominance along the Xivenyu coast. Syvonan sovereignty would in 1786 after the Crisis of 1785 when Ohmaitoreks Illya inherited the Syvonan throne on the death of her father, Fehrenyi III. The Syvonan government feared a full annexation into Tinjongnia and total loss of autonomy if Tinjongnian Andalafynks Phalus (IV) inherited the title on his mother's death. In order to avoid a military conflict with Tinjongnia, the "Treaty for the Comptensation and Abdication of Ohmait Illya I" was drafted and signed in Lyenova, 1786, by Vaintoreks Ziva of Tinjongnia, Andalafynks Phalus, Ohmait Illya of Syvona, and Syvonan Aberofynks Hallae. The treaty entailed the abdication of Ohmait Illya I, swears in Aberofynks Hallae as Ohmait, establishes the terms for the integration of Syvona as an autonomous Kingdom within Tinjongnia, and excludes Illya and the Imperial House of Tijone from inheriting the Syvonan Kingdom.Autonomous Kingdom in Tinjongnia (1786-)
Starting with the reign of Ohmait Hallae, this period saw the strengthening of Tinjongnian and Syvonan ties and the modernization of Syvona. (WIP)Territories
