The Destruction of the Southern Portion of the Greand.

In an atempt to end The War the evocationist, Nozhor, used a great weapon he'd created called The Bow of the Elements in one of the war's largest battles. Nozhor had not fully anticipated the destruction he would cause.   The involved generals, The Eight, and "The Rider" were protected or able to protect themselves. However most of the soldiers involved in the battle died instantly.   In a rare instant of divine intervention, Zitalous saved the souls of many soldiers and bound them to their armor. This act created the species now known as the mantles.
