The Temple of Shadows

Purpose / Function

This grand temple serves as the final resting place for mantles. A unique property of their lifecycle means that it would be inappropriate to bury a mantle's core after their body dissipates. Sometimes after a mantle passes a new soul can use that core a few decades later. As such mantle's cores are placed on pedestals where they can safely reform and the so that the living may morn.

History

Circa 100 AS it was discovered that mantles sometimes reform as new individuals. A need to respect the dead, but to allow new life to flourish was needed. As such King Borchi commissioned a grand structure be built along the Glory Mountain Range in the Eastern part of Lustrous.
To this day Clerics of Kortic maintain the temple and watch over the dead.
