Xanthiri
Xanthiri is a continent, with a wide range of climates and habitats.
Once a large landmass, Xanthiri was at one point literally fractured into pieces. A catastrophic event, giant earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, maybe all of them, but definitely magical in nature, resulted in the destruction of the mid and lower regions of the continent. Many cities can be found in the oceans, but not all of the lost land mass has been accounted for. Since then, new islands emerged and the land continued to shift into what it is today.
This continent was given an ancient, lasting name, from a language that predates the Elves and Dragons. Archaeologists and linguists have studied artifacts and historical documents of the Dragons, Elves, and Dwarves, all of them calling the continent Xanthiri. It’s name is a remnant of races that came even before them, carvings that date back thousands and thousands of years have that name carved into it, often found in sunken cities. It is a popular belief that the language is of the Orcs, a race that died out long before the age of dragons, likely before the continent fractured.
Life Across the Sea
Xanthiri is not the only continent on the planet, but life from across the seas is somewhat of a mystery. During the early years post Scourge, humans arrived on Xanthiri from a continent that was ravaged by wars waged between rather advanced countries at the time. Most historical records do not specify what they were searching for. Those who tried to return were never heard from again, and no messages were received in either direction. For almost a millennia, there was no sign that life existed outside of Xanthiri, until more human invaders arrived in the year 1035.
