Susano
Divine Swordsman
Susanō, the first of Amaterasu’s brothers, is the god of oceans, storms, and lightning. He’s an unpredictable, energetic, and proud god, but still honorable. He's not really a god of mischief, but he enjoys watching people overcome adversity – he's the one that suggested Hachiman be made a god – so he's not above putting a few hurdles in peoples' way so they can prove their mettle.
He is often referred to as the first Bushi, as it was him that cut open his mother's belly to release the Yokai and Demons, and him that fought the Children of Chaos. This has led many of the schools of Bushido to be attached to temples dedicated to Susanō, as they believe he will bless them in their journeys.
As a part of that, he is said to take on divine apprentices, making godly swordsman out of his fellow deities. He was formerly the master of Ryujin, but lost his pupil when Ryujin and Mizuki fought and Amaterasu punished them. Now, he is the master of his son.
According to local legends, he frequents a few of the tea houses around the country, drinking all the alcohol they have. If the owner runs him out, he leaves, cursing the place to fail within the year. However, if he’s allowed to drink his fill, he blesses them, causing their sake jars to never empty.
