Wyrd Galaxy

The fabric of reality has a tear in it. We call it the Rift. Through the Rift, chaos flows out. We call it the Wyrd. It seeps into the Galaxy, empowering super beings, magic and all kind of Wyrd creatures.   There is more beyond the Rift than just magical forces. There are beings who try to pass through it. Some of them benign. Others, less so.   Seeing the need to guard our reality from the horrors beyond, the Wardens were created. Orbiting the Rift and the twin black holes that keep it in place is the Warden space habitat (know affectionately as Keep Wyrd) and the Warden defence fleets.   Over time, the Wardens discovered that they need to protect the Rift not only from what's beyond but also from the denizens of our Galaxy. Various devious parties and organizations have tried to take control of the Rift. None of them succeeded.   The Galaxy spins. Civilizations come and go. Empires rise and fall. The Wardens remain. Ever vigilant.
