Wu Xing

The new dynasty in the Tuvelian Empire comes at a time of great conflict. The Jin family, elected to the crown after the collapse of their main rivals, have only just begun to look outwards, being the first dynasty to truly do so in centuries.   In the south, rebellious march-governesses arrogantly call themselves Queens, even as their borders are threatened by fire-worshipping heathens. The governor of Omnis to the east had only been recently shaken to the core with violent religious sectarianism even as the mysterious shamans begin strange rituals. Godless, mercenary autocrats sail from the west, while matriarchal pirates come south to take slaves and loot.   All of these struggles are reflected in the Imperial island of Tuvelia - merchants seek trade with the Empire and to give tribute, while no doubt waiting for weakness to strike. Illegal cults spread, with some perhaps even having support from those in power. Forbidden magics are becoming more and more common, even as stories of the fate of slaves in the north and south spread and create panic.
