Wokou Kaizoku
Lord Wokou Kaizoku (a.k.a. Samurai)
A young Khao'n noble boy fantasizes on the romanticization of Piracy, famous pirates, legendary treasure, and battles against great beasts of the deep. Since a young age he has dreamed of sailing the seas with a merry crew. His family however, disagreed. He must study, learn many skills, train, so that he will take on a position of power that his family will pass on to him, and all their responsibilities. This boy did not care for such things, eventually, it became too much. One day when the city of Khao landed in Steton for trade and refuel, as he was walking the streets, he overheard merchants planning to travel to bloodwave bay for trade, and he saw an out. He stowed himself away in their carriages and fled the city and his family's responsibility.
Upon his arrival in bloodwave bay, he was discovered by the merchants in his attempt to slip away, he then had to run deeper into the bay to escape, before he is taken back to his family. Believing he is free, he lets out a sigh of relief, before he is approached by a large man, a grand pirate captain who knows this boy does not belong, the captain takes the boy to a safe tavern, and asks him why he is so far away from his home, upon learning of the boys wish for freedom, he makes a proposition, to join his crew and be a part of the Freemen, on one condition, to fully leave his life behind, take on a new name and be reborn as a real pirate, a free man. Thus Wokou Kaizoku is born.
His new life in this crew had it's own hardships, but it was not without merit, Wokou learned to fight with his fellow freemen, how to tie knots for the sails, to barter with tradesmen, to sail at the helm, to chart a course, and even the kindness of companions.
But Fate is not as kind...
For a great storm brewed, and swept this ship into it's very heart, men were thrown overboard, plunged into the great depths of the sea, as was this story's very own, but there was one other thing that Wokou learned of, the trials of the gods, in this moment he could do only one thing, and pray for Kaheeli's mercy amidst the storm, that he might live another day.
The next thing he remembers is waking in an unfamiliar abode, his crew nowhere to be seen, there is but one, an old man, that claimed to have fished him up off the shoreline south of Steton, as Wokou looked around, he could see that this old man was alone, he had no family, the same position he now found himself in.
Wokou couldnt help but feel like he owed this man a life debt, and wished to repay it in any way that he could. Yet the old man had but one request, "become my student, and train in the ways of the warrior, you lack purpose, and I can give you that, but you must prove your mettle"
More Years pass, and Wokou is no longer the young adult that washed up on that shore, now stands a strong man, with the teachings and honor of his late-mentor held closely in his heart. He walks towards the ruins of a once great city, in search of new companionship, and the desire of legends that still drive him forward, hoping he is ready to face this next challenge in life: The City of eassemere, for the Wonders Within would require great strength.
