Index 1: Calamity's Call

Epic of a man named Braugahr who unintentionally brought about the end of the world on what people of Ylgr refer to as the “Day of the Coursing Sky” Braugahr climbed to the highest peak in the, then united, kingdom and called down the challenge of the gods. When Shaeila, the goddess of light, and the founding strand approached him she offered forgiveness. But he struck her down severing the strand. This sent the world into “The Day of the Coursing Sky” where the sky became dark and the existence of the gods was ripped from Zevian and they were never heard from again. This left a tear in the veil of Zevian for beings of “Xehas” basically hell to enter and destroy the world without the gods protection. Braugahr was overcome with grief and went to face these beings and seal the breach. Him and a champion from each kingdom rose up and fought back the dark beings. They were able to reach the tear, but had no way to keep it closed. They found that by leaving Zevian there would be no return as two champions were dragged into the void below. Braugahr took responsibility and lept into the void, but before being consumed by the darkness, he grasped the ends of the veil and pulled it together sealing Zevian once more. It was said that he is still there to this day holding the breach The surviving champions remember his sacrifice and further sealed the veil by forming an island over the place Braugahr which stands to this day as a symbol of Zevianite resolve against those who would threaten our world. Upon returning to Ylgir, however, the five houses fell into disarray over who was to blame and after years of bickering and eventually fighting, the 5 houses separated and the central city became baron save for the keepers of the palace who maintained the grounds.
