Mourning Soul Peaks
A vast thick mountain range, and natural northern border of Vedania. Griffons and Roc roost here, and hunt the high peaks. Orcs roam throughout the mountainous valleys, and harpies harass frontier settlers at its foothills. The range is freezing cold and capped with deep snow, shrouded by mists that snake around the mountains like the dragons of old. Climbing these mountains is treacherous business, for they are laced with razor sharp rocks, and craggy barren valleys. It is here where the red wyrms of old made their roost. Beasts of raw power that crept from the mountains to burn the fledgling nation of Vedania to the ground time and time again. In 677, a young hero by the name of Syd Kaiber, scoured the mountains, searching for this beast, finally finding its lair, he slayed the monster where it stood. Thus putting an end to the red dragons of the eastern world. Currently there are only two roads that lead more north, one that leads through the dangerous mountains, and one that goes around them in the village of Northshire. The mountain trail is barren, and not used anymore and has fallen into dangerous disrepair.
