Baron or Baroness
The first of the Landed Nobles, Barons have control over a keep, town or territory.
Barony types:
Marcher - These Baronies are usually bordering hostile neighbors. Often just keeps and local farms.
Resource - These Baronies are usually located near a natural resource mine, lumber, stone works.
Trade - These Baronies are sources of trade markets and are often strong guild presence.
Farming - The most common barony these are usually far from hostile forces.
Duties
Collecting taxes for the crown. Governing the domain in the name of the Crown by insuring proper defense of the domain, maintaining the economy of the domain.
Benefits
The Barony may have up to 10 Knights.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Failure to properly govern and adjudicate their territory can be cause for removal by Trial.
