Natha, the Amber Ship

Summary

Natha is the great ship of the Blesserfolk, built entirely of amber and with sails of spun pearls. The ship sails upon the endless ocean, exploring and wandering for all eternity, and is capable of sinking below the waves. Within the rituals and beliefs of the Blesserfolk Religion the hope for all people is that, after death, their spirit will sail with Natha in a grand armada. Thus, the funerary traditions of the Blesserfolk religion involve setting the body upon a burning boat and casting it from the shore. Just as amber only floats in cold water, it is said that Natha is only visible on the coldest day of the year.
