Church of the Goddess Trifecta

The primary religion of Dolone, followers of the church can be found around, though few match the zealotry of the Dolonites in their beliefs. Trifectians believe that the Earth was created and shaped by three goddesses, all sisters. There was Ireul and Ealtas that both followed the eldest sister, Dolonea, the Warrior Goddess. Trifectians are very intolerant of other belief systems and their followers, and the country of Dolone is notorious for having led numerous crusades against foreign belief systems and their host countries. Followers practice a strict diet consisting of all plant species, but only chicken and goat for their meats. Any other land or sea based creature is strictly prohibited. Wine and whiskey are not only allowed but encouraged, as they are considered favored drinks of the sisters.

Public Agenda

As stated above, Trifectians are quite intolerant of other religions, believing their way is the one and only way. Visitors from outside Dolone are expected, though not required, to join in worship during their stay, regardless of their personal beliefs. Outside beliefs are strongly discouraged within Dolone's boundaries. Within smaller cities and villages a variety of religions can be found coexisting mostly peaceably, though within the capital of Ragafore lynchings are not uncommon of any they consider to be heathen. The lynchings are radically illegal, but often done quickly and quietly, and the victims are not always proven to be heathens. They celebrate one Holy Day every month, during which all practitioners gather at a church for a 16 hour bout of fasting and praying. Women known as Mothers run individual church services, and all are within the authority of Dolone's Prince, the grand leader of the Church.

History

Trifectians are of the belief that the world was created by three Goddess sisters. Ireul was the youngest, and by far the most mischievous. Despite her chaotic personality, Ireul had a fond eye for the arts, and was responsible for the shape of the earth and patterning of the stars. She is considered the patron Goddess of artists and children. The middle child, Ealtas, had a far more pensive demeanor than her sisters. She was constantly interested in the workings of things and is credited with setting down the natural laws of the earth. She is the patron saint of knowledge and scientists. Both sisters looked up to their eldest sibling, Dolonea, the Warrior Queen. All three sisters were born into the universe as little more than strands of pure magic when the universe was young and all was naught but dust. Gradually they formed themselves into being before shaping the cosmos as they saw fit. But in the endless dust lay evil that sought to quash their efforts and keep all as it was. Using nothing but her fists, Dolonea beat back the evil forces to the furthest reaches of existence, and banished their weakened forms into the Nothing beyond. The sisters went on to finish their plans, as Ireul painted the stars and shaped the earth and Ealtas formed the natural laws of the universe. Dolonea's scars from fighting bled onto the Earth, gifting life to the world. They fell in love with all the life that arose, from the delightfully sentient Terran races to all the mindless beasts. All except for the goats and chickens, which happened to be similar in appearance to the Ancient Evils Dolonea was forced to vanquish. Dolone was founded to worship the Goddess Trifecta, and grew slowly but surely into a great country.
