Long Claw

Creature's Appearance

The Long Claws possess long claw like appendages that are in place where a normal animals forearm would be. With this creature moving on all fours, it has to use these claws as a form of movement, digging into the earth in order to gain stability. The back legs these creatures control are considerably smaller than their claws, but are strong and powerful enough to allow them to move with speed and agility.   Most Long Claws have a rustic brownish skin tone, with their skin appearing similar to that of a reptiles. The top section of their bodies have a layer of thick large durable scales which leaves them highly protected from all attack that focus on this areas (these scales are not invulnerable and can be punctured and broken through). The underbellies of these creatures do not possess these scales, leaving them severely unprotected and almost fragile to attacks that are aimed here.   At the end of their bodies protrudes a somewhat long tail, with a sharp point at the tip. These tails do not have the scales mentioned previously.

Creature's Behaviour

Long Claws are known to hunt in small packs of no more than 3, however it isn't rare to see the numbers of these packs differentiate (some have even opted to hunt alone on some occasions).   These viscous hunters move quickly and precisely, when they attack. They tend to attack simultaneously with those in their pack, showing their level of coordination and general hunting prowess.   Where the Long Claws are generally known for mostly attacking when in need of food, they do still view all life in this world as an enemy and threat. When encountering any other form of life, that isn't a Long Claw, they will not hesitate to attack.   When attacking, these creatures use the long claw appendages to stab and slice at their opponents. It is not rare to see them attack by other means also, with some being seen to attack using their tails (which they use in a similar way to a whip) and their teeth (however these creatures rarely attack using this method, and opt to use it as a last resort if all else fails).   Long claws have been able to easily adapt to their new environment after coming through the rifts, and can use surrounding areas when in hunting. They may even lie and wait hidden within structures, or other overgrown areas, until a suitable meal comes along.
