Altered Spiders
Spiders that see themselves fully transformed by the rifts impression, would go through extreme stages of change where their bodies physically change internally and externally.
The first change that affected spiders would go through, would be the overall growth in size. Their legs becoming longer, stronger and sharper.
The next change they experience is the internal change to their web glands, and thus webs. Their webbing becomes a lot stronger, with some species possessing webbing that can burn its victims.
The next development would consist of eyes already on their body moving, and some new eyes developing (around the back section of their body). This would be one of the more confusing changes for these spiders, leaving them very vulnerable due to the unaccustomed new sight. This change would of course allow spiders to see a lot more space around them, allowing them to hunt and avoid predators more effectively.
Altered Spider's Behaviour
These altered spiders are also known to have increased aggression toward any other life form, or even other spider species (some altered spiders have even attacked others from the same species, but this is seen as a rare occurrence). These spiders seem to tend to themselves for the most part, rarely operating with others in their species.
These spiders become extremely protective over their eggs when they feel they are at harm, and will subsequently become very hostile toward anything they believe could cause this. Once their eggs hatch, these spiders will continue to protect their offspring (who also inhabit the same affects from the rift) until they are old enough to do so themselves. Once this is the case the parent Spider would leave in search of a more desolate area to inhabit.
A large amount of these altered spiders prefer cold damp environments to live in, and thus tend to inhabit abandoned destroyed buildings. While these spiders prefer to live in isolation, many decide to inhabit these abandoned structures/ buildings together, however they still choose to avoid contact and ultimately stay out of each others way.
