Session 6 - Half-Baked Clues
General Summary
-The party left the barracks and went to find Hale Durgen
-The party found Hale Durgen and interrogated him
-Hale Durgen appeared to be of little intellect but was intimidated to reveal his true nature. Hale said he would answer any questions related to the investigation as long as he was allowed to leave safely. The party agreed and Kelbi Kross shook hands and was caught with a binding spell to hold up the agreement. Hale told the party that they were under the same employer as Jonathan DeWitt and was told to help Jorvus Anlay with certain tasks. Also, that they had framed Mary Thornburrow for the murders of her husband and neighbors. He was using the Green Liquid to make her crazy and get her addicted to it. Hale also answered that Jorvus is working with other people in the town but did not reveal who and the otyugh under The Grey Ranger was used to dispose of bodies.
-Hale Durgen then left the town to the south.
-Emrys Tanda's father contacted her through a jasmine flower crown in her backpack. Her father asked how she was doing and had a delightful conversation.
-The party split with Amar and Suoroc patrolling the town and looking for anything out of the ordinary. The rest of the party headed toHappy Cow Bakery
-Amar and Suoroc investigated the lightning struck house and determine it was not caused by lightning. They also find remnants of an alchemical setup and a cellar with barrels of the Green Liquid and a long dark hallway leading away from the house.
-Suoroc talked with Mithlis Bolboc and was invited to a party the next night at 5pm at Bolboc Farms .
-Emrys Tanda , Kelbi Kross and Jonathan DeWitt headed to the Happy Cow Bakery to inquire about testing recipes
-Inside Happy Cow Bakery they met Mallanth Cromveil and Ish Cromveil and Kelbi Kross was setup with their son and would meet him at the fighting ring later that night as he would be providing bread for the fight.
-Kelbi Kross gave some cave mushrooms to Mallanth Cromveil and he said he would create a mushroom tart and they should come back in a few days to try it.
-Jonathan DeWitt purchased some salmon pastries for Amar
-The group tried 3 different colored donuts, a purple one that increases sexual drive and can change your gender on higher doses, a red one that causes infatuation, and a blue one that causes one to vomit colored liquid. Jonathan DeWitt was interested in the blue one when the recipe had been refined.
-Both groups meet up and head to the barracks to talk with Faulk Cornwallis and inform him of Hale Durgen and learn about the inhabitants of the lightning house as Gresforn and Bathilde Destalker who were dwarves who kept to themselves.
-The party headed out towards the lightning house and Emrys Tanda got distracted by an injured eagle who lead her to an alleyway where she was knocked unconscious and taken without the other members of the party noticing.
-The party backtracked and saw the kidnapper and ran towards them and initiated battle.
-The kidnapper was a talented spellcaster with runes along their armor and glowing runes on their arms when they cast a spell. The party defeated them, but Jonathan DeWitt , Amar , and Kelbi Kross were downed during the fight.
-The party found a note on the kidnapper stating they were hired by Jorvus to take out the party before the fighting event.
-Emrys Tanda realized the kidnapper was part of an assassins guild that is usually hired to kill high profile targets.
-The party also found leather armor +1 and boots of elvenkind on the assassin and took a short rest
