Session 5 - Garbage Collection
General Summary
-Party had made a plan to sneak into the cellar of The Grey Ranger
-Jonathan DeWitt tried to make a distraction by saying Suoroc had said some choice words about a gnomes mother
-Suoroc left the tavern then returned
-Suoroc then left the tavern again and changed their appearance to a scholarly fellow
-Suoroc returned to the tavern and spoke with Ulric Mistsplitter about getting a tour of the kitchen and was told they would need a guard
-Kelbi Kross came up with the plan to disguise themselves as a guard and escort the man to the back
-Kelbi Kross and Suoroc left the tavern and returned a short time later with Kelbi Kross disguised as a guard
-The two of them talked with Ulric Mistsplitter and was given permission to tour the kitchen
-The two toured the kitchen and met the dwarven twin cooks Burchie Ironhide and Bosta Ironhide .
-Suoroc gave Bosta Ironhide the 2lbs of mushrooms they had harvested in the cavern earlier
-Kelbi Kross saw Burchie Ironhide enter the pantry and followed
-Kelbi Kross attempted to knock out Burchie Ironhide , but was unsuccessful and he stabbed Kelbi Kross and locked her in the pantry
-Burchie then grabbed Suoroc and started to take them to Faulk Cornwallis to sort out what just happened
-Amar spoke with Ulric Mistsplitter and learned that there had been a series of murders in Falcondale and a house had recently burned down in a lightning strike on the west side of town.
-Emrys Tanda, while a wildshaped into a frog, found a small space to sneak through and made it to the kitchen and snuck past Bosta guarding the pantry door.
-Kelbi Kross relayed what had happened to Emrys Tanda and then removed her disguise and tied themselves up, pretending to be a victim
-Emrys Tanda found a small hole in the pantries floor and fell through hitting the ground hard enough to end their wildshape and found they had fallen into the cellar with a large pile of rotting meat
-Emrys Tanda then was attacked by a spiny tentacle and dragged into the meat pile. They attacked and the creature withdrew
-Amar heard Emrys Tanda scream underneath the floor boards
-Amar went to the back of the tavern and found a small grate and "removed" it and couldn't hear or see anything down it. They decided to return to the tavern with an intention to "rip up the floor boards"
-Jonathan DeWitt played some poker with a group of gnomes and stole some of their money
-Kelbi Kross was taken to jail and locked up
-Suoroc was released because of no crime committed and went to the inn to remove their disguise
-Amar entered the tavern and was stopped by Jonathan DeWitt who was promptly slapped by Amar.
-Jonathan DeWitt talked with Ulric Mistsplitter to find a guard named Hale Durgen to help with the Kelbi Kross situation
-Suoroc entered the Inn to remove their disguise but was unable to because of Dawn Gath keeping an eye on them and not allowing strange people to enter paying customer's rooms. Suoroc left the inn to find Faulk to help with that.
-Suoroc found Faulk and they went into the Inn
-Amar and Jonathan DeWitt found Hale Durgen and Jonathan received a key to Kelbi Kross 's Jail cell. Hale told him to return the key in one hour at the slaughterhouse north of town.
-Suoroc and Faulk Cornwallis entered the Inn and Suoroc removed their disguise and left the Inn.
-Suoroc caught up with Amar and Jonathan DeWitt and entered the tavern to investigate the pantry and cellar
-Ulric Mistsplitter was compliant and unlocked the cellar as Amar went down into it and found a Emrys Tanda who was excited to see friends.
-The party learned that an Otyugh was being used as a garbage disposal for rotting meat and other organic trash underneath the The Grey Ranger
-Kelbi Kross in the jail cell saw Mary Thornburrow awaken from their sedated state and started yelling psychotic nonsense
-Kelbi Kross tried to calm them down, but was unable to. But, they did learn that Mary Thornburrow did have wounds on their arms that seemed self inflicted
-Suoroc went to check up on Kelbi Kross and tried to soothe Mary Thornburrow but was unsuccessful. They did learn that Mary had been using some sort of injectable "medicine" they received from a cloaked figure. Mary kept asking for the medicine.
-Suoroc left the barracks to find Faulk Cornwallis to ask some more questions
-Amar , Jonathan DeWitt and Emrys Tanda left the tavern to find Faulk Cornwallis to ask about the lightning struck house
-The three found Faulk Cornwallis and learned that the house was seen struck by lightning by a few eye witnesses and was given the location of the house. They left towards the burned down house.
-Suoroc arrived just after the three to speak with Faulk Cornwallis. Suoroc paid 15gp to free Kelbi Kross
-Amar , Jonathan DeWitt and Emrys Tanda arrived at the burned down house, but were unable to find any useful information other than it was a wealthier household.
-Suoroc went to Mary Thornburrow 's house to investigate and found the place in a state of chaos with broken furniture everywhere with a large pile of dried blood near the kitchen, presumable the husbands body. Suoroc also gleaned that Mary was a frail and small woman, while the husband was tall and heavy set. It would seem that someone of that size wouldn't be able to drag a body. They also found some broken glass without a reason to be there.
-Suoroc left the scene and grouped up with the passing three returning from the burned down house. Suoroc decided to head to the barracks to release Kelbi Kross while Amar wanted to get Faulk Cornwallis to show them the letter from Falcondale about the murders.
-The party arrived at the barracks, Kelbi Kross was released, they learned that Hale Durgen was responsible for the investigation of Mary Thornburrow 's murders, and that the Falcondale murders were all committed right after midnight and the victims throats had been cut all the way down to the spine and stabbed repeatedly in the lower abdomen.
