session 16 - Taken Road
General Summary
-The party awoke from their rest and went shopping for their journey towards Understille. They purchased a wagon and 2 horses and some supplies for the road and set out west towards Mortar Pass
-Alria Elevir and Faulk Cornwallis met with them before they left and gave them a letter allowing them access to the Onyx Order with Faulk saying to be careful of bandits and goblin tribes in the pass
-After traveling along the road west for a few hours the party saw a group of people harassing another caravan. It turned out the people were robbing the caravan and the party engaged
-The battle was difficult and the party was defeated and knocked unconscious
-The party awoke in a circular cave inside small iron cages with the magic users cuffed in special bracers. The bandit Captain mentioned that they had a successful raid and that Dulguk would be here tomorrow to purchase the captives captured. It was revealed that Suoroc was a sentient ape
-Jonathan DeWitt attempted to convince the guards watching the prisoners that he was cursed by a witch and needed his watch in order not to die, and possible kill everyone in the cave as well. The guards found this funny and joked about it.
-Amar changed into her lionin form and the guards called the captain back to secure her with magical cuffs. She was blow darted with the Green Liquid but was able to fight off the main effects and was cuffed further.
-Amar heard talking in her head telling her to worship a new deity and that she would be promised power if she did. Amar refused and was unable to contact Menda during this.
-Kelbi Kross spoke with a dwarf who was also imprisoned and learned that the prisoners are used as slave miners extracting an explosive material and then sold to Dulguk when they come about once a week.
-Suoroc spoke with a woman also captured and learned she was a traveling merchant on their way to the butcher's festival in Goreck
-Emrys Tanda talked in different languages to determine what the guards spoke and didn't spoke.
-Amar spoke kusvan to the guards and one of them spoke up and inquired about where she was from. The guard mentioned that she sounded like she was from Delpi and that a certain "Lioness of Delpi" had been missing and there was a bounty for bringing them back alive. Also that her brother Amun was leading the charge for her search in Galemoor and that she wasn't the only one with "gifts".
-The guard captain came back in and took Amar , Jonathan DeWitt and Kelbi Kross to work in the mines.
-Emrys Tanda turned into a spider and escaped their cell. The guards saw that someone had escaped and called to have the prison "cleansed". They left and closed the door.
-Suoroc attempted to remove their cuffs but was ultimately unsuccessful. -A man with a gas mask and tank full of the Green Liquid entered and looked like they were going to spray the room.
-Emrys Tanda shifted into a panther and attack the man and killed him, but the tank started to leak the gas into the prison.
-Emrys Tanda grabbed some gear from the tables, the key off the body of the gasser, and used a dust devil to suck up the gas leaking and freed the prisoners.
-The escape party ran towards the door and opened it
