Dwarven Queen
The Dwarven Queen is a misnomer coming from a misunderstanding of how dwarvish society works by the rest of Ethilia. The Dwarven Queen, known as Torfheidur Extrados, is a powerful scion of the highest level of dwarven society. As a result she was in the unique position to introduce new norms into dwarvish society.
What Torfheidur accomplished was the opening of trade between the Masterwork Forge and the rest of Ethilia. Previously the workings of the Masterwork Forge were kept completely secret from Ethilia, the riches and treasures crafted there were horded away in the vaults of the Dwarves.
However as time progressed and the world became darker and wilder. This has caused a shortage in food and timber in the Dwarvish owned mountains as beasts and dragons harry the dwarvish workers, or destroy the crops that they plant. The situation at one point became desperate as the great ships the dwarves had created to do their occasional trading run with Ethilia were burned by a fire drake from the east.
Torfheidur, a sorcerer within dwarvish society, used her magics to summon a few of the great city leaders from Estmerian Ethilia and brought them into council with the keystone clan of the dwarvish society. Together they agreed to a specific set of trade agreements. Over time the dwarves would begin to furnish the Estmarian city troops with arms and armor to rival or surpass that which the old empire use to supply to them. This was of importance to the Estmarians because they were accustomed to using higher quality gear that only the empire new how to produce.
In exchange the Estmerians would provide the dwarves with timber, food, and extra guards as needed. Mostly the dwarves were interested in gaining the aid of the Estmerian cavalry which is notorious for its battle prowess.
