The Keepers
The Keepers are an ancient organization of barkeeps dedicated to keeping society honest.
Structure
The Keepers are decentralized and thinly spread, so each member holds a significant amount of power over their region. Membership is for life, but new members are inducted only when a vacancy opens due to death or territorial expansion. Each Keeper is the barkeep of a bar of the same name.
Public Agenda
Bones is devoted to the collection and dispersion of secrets. They believe in the purity of knowledge, so members never perform the dirty work. Instead, they use their influence to manipulate other parties into divulging their secrets.
Assets
The primary currency of the Bones is knowledge. With it, they manipulate and blackmail targets to add to they ever-growing library of secrets. In exchange for information, Keepers give out Skeleton Keys which can be saved and exchanged for favors from the organization.
History
After the manipulation and subterfuge of the Dawn War , the mortal races formed a temporary agreement to share their secrets. They appointed a council of Knowledge Keepers to ensure that all maintained their honesty. As civilizations expanded back to their pre-war territories, the Keepers fell out of the public eye. Now they are more akin to a secret society, but search an area's pubs and one is sure to find a Keeper keeping the bar.
