Winter Gales

30 years ago, the mountains we call home were hit with a horrible drought. The once expansive jungle was reduced to a few acres of land, and the rest was covered in a blistering desert. Many in the nearby mountains prayed to the Peak of Horns for rain, but no answer came. Finally, an expedition was put together to travel to the sweltering mountain to appease the gods. Only one came back. 30 years later, winter is taking over. The peaks are covered in ice and snow. The drown dirt of the plains are turning more white by the day. The jungle, once recovering, has been slowly wilting away. The Peak of Horns is covered in a seemingly unending blizzard. The surviving expedition member, now old and frail, wonders who else will be willing to throw their life away. You think that maybe its time to put together another one.
