025 • Into the Jungle
General Summary
The Musical Menagerie finds themselves at the edge of the Quoraska Jungle. There, Petrus just defeated an enemy during the night who ending up being a previous adversary. The clouds multiplied overnight and the rain began as you delved into the dark woods. Even with Ren at the reins, Comet surveying above, and Nixx/Iris helping Petrus navigate, the trek with the cart is difficult but manageable.
Early in the journey, Comet, you heard a wyvern screech as it approaches. Thinking quickly, Ren stashed the cart and prepared to fight. And fight you did. Nixx dealt the killing blow, the force of his eldritch blows knocking the wyvern sprawling into the rain-swelled pond behind it. Ren harvested some poison with an excellent survival check, and Nixx stocked up on clean water for the journey ahead.
That afternoon, as the strong rainfall continued, you discovered a dead section of forest that stretched on for miles. Hesitantly, you decided to make use of the cleared "path" and dash through it. Thus, you were able to save some time and arrive at the Aarakocra village, Thistlewic, before nightfall. Before reaching the village itself though, you were first intercepted by Nagual and more importantly his master, Aiyana, as they were guarding the perimeter. You recognized them as an ally, and she escorted you to Comet's village while she and Comet chatted.
Thistlewic is a beautiful piece of art with tree houses stretching from underbrush to canopy. Many skeptical eyes watched your party enter their village and approach the central tree. There, Elder Deekek welcomed you home, Comet. As you headed upstairs to talk with him and Aiyana, you hold in one hand the vial of wyvern poison as proof that your friends are worthy and capable, meaning no harm to the village.
