Velira

Velira home to the Dragonborn is an Island that floats hundreds of feet above the Archanean Sea in the far south of Wildemount. Home to a race of creatures cursed with dragon heritage and inate arcane ability. These people are a force to be recconned with and there has never been an attempted invasion of the land.
They were once slaves to the Ancient black dragon Kraznakar and her kin, but fought back slaying the beast in an area now called the dragon barrows.
These are a people dedicated to the removal of their accursed blood and seek out knowledge of the arcane and divine magics in a hope to one day cure themselves.
There aren't many dragon born outside of Velira as they are a reclusive people. Thse that do veture outside of the land are typically either those seeking knowledge to help rid them of the curse or outcasts that have broken some law and chosen exile over death.

Structure

Magic is seen as the a valued comodity and those who are oldest and most learned lead the acadamy that stands as the centre learning. Education is paramount in the eyes of the people and all work towads the singular goal of curing the curse of draconic blood.
everyone has a good level of education and those that do not show a great aptitude for the arcane are given a choice between farming or soldiering to provide safety and sustenance for the people.
