Witch of the Woods

Once upon a time, in the land of Faerûn, there lived a young girl named Nessa. She was known throughout the land for her beauty and kind heart, and many suitors came from far and wide to win her hand in marriage. One day, a powerful sorcerer came to Nessa's village and demanded that she marry him. Nessa refused, for she did not love the sorcerer and did not want to be bound to him for eternity. The sorcerer, enraged by her rejection, cursed her to a terrible fate.   From that day forward, Nessa's beauty began to fade, and her once-kind heart grew cold and bitter. She became known throughout the land as the "Witch of the Woods," for she would often be seen wandering through the forests, muttering curses and spells under her breath.   Years passed, and Nessa's curse only grew stronger. She became a powerful sorceress in her own right, and many people feared and respected her. But deep down, Nessa was still haunted by the sorcerer's curse, and longed for a way to break free from its grip.   One day, a young prince came to Nessa's village, searching for a way to defeat an evil dragon that was terrorizing his kingdom. Nessa saw an opportunity to break her curse, and agreed to help the prince in exchange for his assistance in breaking the sorcerer's curse.   Together, Nessa and the prince embarked on a dangerous quest to defeat the dragon. They battled through dark forests, treacherous mountains, and raging rivers, until finally they reached the dragon's lair.   The battle was fierce, but in the end, Nessa and the prince emerged victorious. But as they celebrated their triumph, Nessa suddenly fell to the ground, lifeless.   It was then that the prince realized the true nature of Nessa's curse. The sorcerer had cursed her with eternal beauty, but in doing so, had also cursed her with eternal life. And so, Nessa had been doomed to wander the earth for all eternity, until she finally met her end in the prince's quest.   From that day forward, parents would tell their children the tale of the Witch of the Woods, and warn them of the dangers of pride and vanity. For they knew that the sorcerer's curse was still out there, waiting for its next victim.
