The Junkyard

An asteroid belt around a red giant sun that has swallowed all its planets. It used to be more rock than metal, but the gate network keeps dropping ships here when they jump wrong, or things go awry between gates. Over hundreds of years they have gathered here, the shipwrecks, the ghost ships, those never seen again and filled the belt with machines made from many hands, some not even human.
