Western Reach of Yondar

Created by

The Western Reach of Yondar is a homebrew D&D setting for personal use. This setting is originally designed for 4e and has been adapted for 5e.   This setting is designed with three principles in mind: (1) Gods are silent; any divine beings do not answer prayers or appear to their followers directly. However, other Celestials, (angels, devas, demigods, etc) do appear to the faithful acting as messengers. (2) Magic requires sacrifice; every spell, every cantrip requires some kind of sacrifice, often using magical components or foci containing stored magical energy. Specific: any spell which requires a component with a gold cost which the spell consumes requires some sort of lasting effect (usually cosmetic). (3) Anything in the Player's Handbook and Monster Manual that doesn't directly contradict the other two design principles should be considered true.
