Qualifications

Must be proficient in calligraphy tools. Must have written and sold a book that no less than 50 hours have been put into.

Career Progression

Every time you spend at least 50 hours writing you gain an Author Feat
Once you spend 500 hours writing you gain the following ability. After a critical success to produce an original work you have a 1% chance to qualify for the gifted class Gifted Author.

Payment & Reimbursement

in downtime you may earn an extra 5 Gp a day.

Production Rules

When creating an original work you must spend a number of hours equal to 100-your bonus to calligraphy tools- 1d20. On a critical success reduce the total time required after other calculations by 10%. The sale price of your book is 200 gp.

Imbue magic

Author Subclass

On a critical success when determining the production time you gain a 5% chance to imbue a one time use random spell into your work.
the second time you take this the chance goes up to 10%
the third time you take this the chance goes up to 15%
You may only take this feat 4 times, the fourth time you take this the chance goes up to 20%, additionally you gain a 1% chance for the item to have the ability to regain its use of the spell after 1 week.

Speed

The time required for production is reduced by 1%
