Artillery (sub)

You strike at opponents at a distance dealing area damage. This is not being scared to get hit... its a life choice!

Career

Qualifications

be able to do area effect damage at a range. Have killed or mortally wounded creatures 10 separate times with ranged area of effect spells or abilities.

Career Progression

every time you kill or mortally wound creatures 10 different occasions you may take one feat related to this class.    When you kill or mortally wound creatures 100 different occasions you have the option to take the artillery mage hidden classes.

Other Benefits

once per long rest you may double the cast range of one spell or ability that does damage around a point. You must have a line of sight to the target point and a clear line of fire. once you do this your location is revealed and leaves a lingering magic signature that marks you for 1 hour.  

Feats:

Extend

Artilery subclass

permanently extend the cast range of area effect abilities and spells that center around a point by 1ft.   you may stack this any number of times.

 

expand

Artillery subclass

you may increase the size of area effect abilities and spells that center around a point by 5% of base   you may take this as many times as you like. stacking up to 200% before any additional increases are in increments of 1%

 

Lob

Artillery subclass

you do not require line of sight for ranged spells or abilities centered around a point if you are outside and within range make a spell attack (even if not required by the spell). A 17 or higher is right on, a 12-16 is within the AOE to hit the target, 2-12 is a miss, 1 is a misfire, effects based on the spell used.    you may take this only once.
