The Rite

History

The Rite is an ancient tradition that began when a human and a dragon worked together to save each other from mortal peril. The Rite is the process where a Dragon is deeply bonded with a human. They gain the ability to communicate telepathically with each other. They also know when the other is in pain or where the other is. If one in the bond dies, the other feels lost as if they have lost part of themselves, sometimes they are driven insane.

Execution

Each Rite is different depending on the type of dragon. The Dragon knows instinctively where to go to start the Rite. During the Rite they meet the Watcher.

Participants

Normally the only ones present for the final steps is the dragon in question, the human they are linking themselves to and the Watcher. Sometimes there may be another dragon present.
