The rise of the serpent-men, and their global empire.

After the exodus of the gods, the first mortals to rise up and seize control of almost the entire globe were the Yuan-Ti, serpent-men who were creations of the vile Outer Gods before the time of the mortal Gods. They pounced upon the weakness of the other, younger mortal races, and in the span of about a hundred years the entire world was in their iron grip. The Yuan-Ti would rule Wandrei for almost a millennium, until the uprising of their slaves, the other mortal races, and their hubris at believing they were invincible proved to be their downfall.
