Dark Elf

The dark elves are a subspecies of elf. They built their kingdom around an active volcano called Mount Rak, named after their patron goddess, Rakia. Their captial city, Morton lies at the base. The rest of their kingdom, called Jannok, is an ash covered jungle, teeming with wild beasts and dangerous geography. The dark elves have been able to tame sections of the jungle and turn them into grand cities and villages, but much still remains untouched. They specialize in subterfuge and fire magic, preferring to silently strike at their enemies and only using fire as a last resort.
The dark elf queen is one of four members of the Elven Council. She tends to act as a voice of reason for the other more radical members. The capital is protected by powerful magical wards that divert lava flow into moats. Thus, the entire city is surrounded by a barrier of molten lava. The queen's castle lies in the middle of the city and it's doors are always open to its citizens.
