The world of Vyngaard is a place of relative peace. With such a chaotic past, one can only try to strive for a calmer and more secure future. With all the unknown dangers of the sea keeping them apart, the inhabitants of the continents lack communication at a higher level. In a world where sea travels become life-threatingly dangerous the moment one loses sight of land, the safest place to cross is the centre, which also happens to be close to the most dangerous area of them all; the YNGVEIG, a place where boats lose sight of land within seconds, and then disappear to never return.
Tensions are rising as the kingdoms of Apattla are slowly being eaten by unnatural growth, as the princes of Vensea split the continent to fight for the right to the throne, and as Delnat deals with the slow rising of a religious war....
... but all is halted when a long-lost adventurer returns from the Yngveig, weaving wonderful tales of having sailed to otherworldly realms on a stream that flows through all of the multiverse, and then navigating home again with a brilliant compass.
Vyngaard's scientist and sorcerers scrambled to figure out this magical device, and within years they figured out the compass' ways, and copies were made available to the richer classes.
Now, all manners of adventurers and moneymakers are racing to explore the newfound universe of Aldinnhalldr.
