It was the year 900 on the Akna calendar when they finally came over the mountains and onto our coasts. Long had the world of Vardoina heard of their kind, the strong and fierce northern whalers who were welcoming and agreeable, but these were not the same, marching upon our kingdoms, villages and homes. Sailing down our coasts, up our rivers and stomping through our fields. These people were brutal, efficient, and unwavering in their commitment. They swept us from the field with their superior weapons and armor. Iron all round, while only our honor guard could field good quality iron weapons. While our men were armored in leather jerkins, bronze armor, and poor quality iron spears were smashed apart by a intense ferocity strength that we have come to associate with our rulers. In the years following the conquest they made many efforts to impress upon us their former image. Welcoming gifts, recognition of our valour in battles against them, and provincial Governor's. For the first time in anyone's memory the continent was united completely from the eastern deserts to the western hills, the northern ice to the southern islands. They had made us kneel but we would rise again.
