The Celebration of Burden is a festival celebrated by the many Herbivores and Omnivores that work in the farmlands across Vuephane. A grand feast is usually prepared by the families of the village, to praise and give thanks to the gods for a bountiful harvest, and to all the sacrifices and hard work of the farmers. The families come together and bring different dishes for the feast, usually in the village square. The village is decorated with bundles of flowers, torches that burn bright, and ribbons adorn the thresholds of houses, shops, and even the trees. Most commonly after the meal is served the festivities continue with song, dance and drinks. At midnight the eldest of the ceremony is the first to make an offer back to the soil in hopes that next year's harvest will be successful. Many common offerings would include large healthy crops, flowers, nuts, seeds and in some rare cases, the offering would double as a cremation for elders who have passed recently. Offering their years and experience back to the earth.

History

The date of this festival originates back to after the fall of man. When Herbivores and Omnivores could successfully set up their own farming communities. They gave back to the gods in thanks of their second chance and new possibilities in life. Though the holiday has altered very slightly, it has gotten more embellished throuout the ages.

Execution

The process of the festival is a week long in preperation for the final day to be the grand feast.

Participants

It is more significant and meaningful for the small villages that celebrate this festival, but still very common in the large cities. For the city beasts that observe this holiday, often do smaller celebrations amongst close friends and family. Though the festivities maybe smaller in size, they still rival the rural ones in entertainment.
