The Gathering in Brandy

  Just five years after the conclusion of the Kelian-Bherian War, tensions still simmered between the tribes and their southern neighbors. Yerling, the last of the holdout tribes, had finally bowed to Bherian influence, submitting to the inevitability of southern dominance. Dona Aalona, the fierce leader who had once led her people against the Bherians, moved swiftly to Brandy, where the borders of Yerling and Bheria met. Her purpose was clear: to ensure that Yerling did not stray from its Kelian roots and to prevent further fragmentation of her people. In the village of Redland, discussions were held with Bherian envoys, a fragile hope for peace hovering in the air.  

The Betrayal

  But peace was not to be. The Bherian troops, under the guise of diplomacy, launched a sudden and brutal attack on Redland. It was not a skirmish, nor a misunderstanding—it was a calculated assault, a betrayal aimed directly at the heart of Kelian leadership. The village, once a place of parley, became a slaughterhouse. Dona Aalona, caught off guard, fought fiercely but was ultimately cut down amidst the chaos. Her death was more than a loss; it was a signal, a harbinger of the storm to come. The Kelians, who had hoped to negotiate, found themselves drenched in the blood of their leader and their hope for unity shattered.  

The Kelian Response

  The response was immediate and ferocious. The Kelians rose up in fury, their war cries echoing across the Redland. No longer were they fighting for mere survival; they fought for vengeance, for the memory of the woman who had sought to unite them. The Bherian forces, unprepared for the ferocity of the Kelian counterattack, were driven back, their numbers thinning under the relentless onslaught. But the Kelians, though fierce, were not invincible. Their numbers, already depleted from years of conflict, could not withstand the combined might of Bheria and its ally, the Kingdom of Aurelith.  

Aurelith's Intervention

  It was Aurelith's entry into the conflict that tipped the scales. A burgeoning kingdom with its own ambitions, Aurelith saw an opportunity to crush the Kelian threat once and for all. Their forces, disciplined and numerous, joined the fray with devastating efficiency. The Kelians, already stretched thin, found themselves overwhelmed. The battlefields of Redland became a graveyard, as wave after wave of Kelian warriors fell under the relentless pressure of two kingdoms. The slaughter was complete—no mercy was shown, no quarter given. The Kelian forces were not just defeated; they were decimated, their ranks shattered beyond repair.  

The Aftermath

  Driven northward, the surviving Kelians retreated further into Aalona territory, deeper than they had ever ventured before. With their backs against the wall, they had no choice but to accept Victor Nightland's final offer of surrender. The terms were harsh but clear: the Kelians would lay down their arms and submit to Bherian rule. The Dukedom of Northwalk was established, not as a tribute to the fallen, but as a reminder of Bherian dominance and the end of Kelian resistance. The conflict, which had once threatened to tear the region apart, was over. The Kelians, once proud and fierce, were now a people broken, their lands absorbed into the growing Bherian kingdom.
