Wamappack
Introduction
The gnomish city of Wamappack is nestled deep in the verdant woods of Igthiel. This city boasts of technological advances, rare crystals that fuel their inventions.
Geography
The city is hidden deep in the Igthiel Woods and many of the homes take advantage of the ancient oak trees either by using them as homes or building sprawling treehouses. Below the city are vast caverns left from a previous age filled with magical crystals.
Climate
This area experiences all four seasons, during the spring, summer, and fall months the temperature remains the same due to the massive oak tree. During the winter months, the gnomes dress in warm coats.
Government
During it's early founding, pioneers from the first fey incursion, were lead by Yorell Fiddlegrip an inventor who was way too advance for this era. (Many believe he might have set off the catalyst for the first incursion. ) Fiddlegrip acted as a mayor of sorts using the title of Lead Inventor many people looked up to him. Once the town seemed well on it's way Fiddlegrip left to seek more adventure. After that many took over for him realizing that being the Lead inventor meant guiding people rather than working on your own inventions.
Now Wamappock is lead by Nymyra Fapplespark, she has decided to retire from adventuring and help the next generation of inventors.
The Pocks
The citzens of Wamappock are clever inventors spanning multiple generations. Those that want a break from the constant clanging, banging, and small explosions moved to the gnome city Schiapbeppack in the Assant Hills. The people who live here are simple and happy people who share knowledge freely.
Traditions and Festivals
The first tradition that all of the people practice is Tyst Tid which roughly translates to Quiet time. During the time of midnight to dawn, no tinkering, banging or clanging is allowed to take place so that it's residence can sleep.
The second one is when gnomes become adults they are to travel the world for one year. it is called Fantastisk.

History
Founding Era
019AR
Wamappock was founded approximately 1,500 years ago by a group of gnome pioneers seeking refuge from a time of strife in their native lands. According to oral tradition, the group was led by an enterprising inventor named Yorell Fiddlegrip, who dreamed of building a city in harmony with the natural world. The settlers discovered a forest on the other side of the veil abundant with resources, including an underground network of crystalline caves that glowed faintly with magical energy. This would become the heart of Wamappock.
The city's name, Wamappock, is thought to derive from an ancient gnomish phrase meaning "Bright Refuge" or "Home of Sparkling Roots." Early Pocks established the city by burrowing homes and workshops into the forest's trees, intertwining their architecture with living trees and glowing crystals.
Golden Age of Invention
1919AR
Roughly 600 years ago, Wamappock entered its Golden Age, marked by unparalleled advancements in clockwork, alchemy, and enchantments. Gnome inventors like Tilly Gearshine and Borik Fizzwhirl created groundbreaking devices, including the Lumiglow Lanterns (powered by the valley’s magical crystals) and the Cogspindle Automaton, the precursor to sentient mechanical companions.
During this era, Wamappock also became known for its floating gardens, suspended by a network of levitating platforms infused with crystal magic. These gardens provided sustenance and demonstrated the gnomes’ commitment to sustainable living.
The Crystal Accord
1619AR
The city faced a grave threat when the nearby tribe of druids, protectors of the mountains, accused the gnomes of over-harvesting crystals. To avert war, the gnomes, led by diplomat Quinzy Silverthimble, negotiated the Crystal Accord. This treaty established a delicate balance: the gnomes could harvest crystals for their magical inventions, but only in harmony with the natural replenishment cycle overseen by the giants.
The Accord became a model for future negotiations, earning Wamappock a reputation as a beacon of diplomacy.
Trials of the Shattered Vale
2369AR
Approximately 150 years ago, disaster struck when a rogue faction of gnomes attempted to harness the crystal energy for mass production, resulting in a catastrophic explosion that shattered part of the valley and disrupted the city's harmony. The Shattered Vale, a barren, scarred region, remains a solemn reminder of the dangers of overreach.
Wamappock endured decades of rebuilding, guided by visionary leaders who re-emphasized their ancestors’ ideals of balance and innovation. It was during this period that the gnomes developed the Verdant Reclamation Project, using alchemy and druidic magic to restore damaged ecosystems.
Modern Wamappock
2519AR
Today, Wamappock is a thriving, hidden city that blends ancient traditions with cutting-edge magical technology. It serves as a hub for trade and learning, attracting scholars, inventors, and adventurers from across the realms. The city remains deeply rooted in its principles of ingenuity and harmony, standing as a testament to the resilience of its people.
The gnomes of Wamappock continue to innovate while protecting their cherished environment, proving that progress and nature can coexist in harmony.
