History
Founding and Early days

Ecliason’s origins trace back over 2,500 years to the third age, a time when the world was recovering from the Dark Ages—a catastrophic war between the gods. Legend holds that Ecliason was founded by Eldran Varoth, a wandering mage who sought refuge in the old ruins of ________ from the chaos as he was gravely wounded and couldn't travel any farther. But he never recovered from his wounds. So he set up his tent and began to trade with travelers heading south. Soon more and more people stopped and stayed. As word of the settlement spread, others came seeking the safety. It was soon discovered that the river that connected near the lands made them fertile enough to grow crops.
The Darkest Day

During the days when heroes where just getting their start, no one could have expected this natural disaster; the volcano on Kuinax Island imploding. Ash and debris went as far north Igthiel woods. Weeks later the soot and ash cleared. Leaving the basin extremely fertile.
Height of the Third Age

During this time Ecliason had been built. it was a very rough version of what we know of today, the castle had been built there was even a school of magic established. Ecliason had reached a new height in artisan goods, and trade. it seemed like the city was unshakeable. During this time the city was ran by a Council called the Radiant Circle a group of nobles, magi, and elected officials.
The First Sundering- Shadefall
1270AR
Ecliason faced it's darkest hour during Shadefall. The city growing way to much to fast, especially in the realm of magical items that were under the castle attracted all kinds of different people,
Malakar the Voidweaver, a fallen mage seeking to harness any power. Malakar unleashed an army of shadowspawn, laying siege to the city for three harrowing years.
The turning point came when the Radiant Circle united with the Guardians of the Vale, a coalition of nearby kingdoms and tribes. In a climactic battle at the city’s gates, Malakar was defeated, but at great cost. The dungeon was sealed shut and any artifacts or stories were lost and the loss of live was two great. The only remain member of the Guardians of the Vale was Alaric Medor.
In the aftermath, the people rebuilt their town but their trust in the council and magic was shaken. The council believed that is prudent to elect one person as a ruling body and them to guide that person. So began the Medor Dynasty. His first command was to outlaw magic with in the city and had anti magic runes placed around the outskirts of the city. (Which is now just the castle district. Aside for the dungeon) His second command was to bury any traces of magic thus creating the dungeon that exists under the castle to this day.
