Public Agenda
The goals of the Order have ever been the slaying of Leviathans wherever they lair. None is safe, not dragons, nor krakens, nor the Giants.
Though, with the lack of Leviathans, they have found themselves committed to other duties, ever they hunt, ever they seek, but the skills remain sharp through the daily rituals they observe
Assets
They retain two fortresses, the Basilicus Draconus and the Bones of Og'Marosh. These fortifications see the majority of their forces and wealth housed.
History
The Order began as a guild, deep in the dark ages of the first era. At the time, there were many dragons, and those that existed were often corrupted and evil, masters of dark powers oppressing the Drunos. Others served dark masters such as Erdemir himself.
The guild trained and prepared for the fighting and death of such ancient beasts. They collected and forged ancient artifacts capable of piercing the hides of the beasts. Created tactics of skirmishing not seen outside of the order for many years after, and collected the best men and women of Staeloria in an effort to prepare for the cataclysmic battles that were to come.
Officially, the Order came into existence in the second era with the finding of their prophet, Kaer-Amon, this forged the guild into a religious order.
History of the Kyrisian Order
Mythology & Lore
Beyond the realms of life and death, there are the planes of the dragons, from this void arose the benefactors of the Drunos. Seeking to guide the people of the world against the Dragons and allow them the safety to grow to the fullest of their potential.
Tenets of Faith
Humanity must be saved from Dragon's fire
All paladins must strive to protect the world from destruction, and in slaying dragons this is become possible.
Ethics
Be good to all folk, for it is in their lives that we find our salvation
The laws of the land are tantamount, but it must never prevent the mission
The mission is always the death of the leviathans that plague the land, whether they be monster or man
Uphold the Faith, Spread the Word, Slay what you Can and Assist how you may
Granted Divine Powers
Divine powers include spells of protection and healing for their clerics, but to take up as a soldier of the faith means to take up spells deemed hateful that they be used against their enemy.
The strongest of warriors, those of the inner circles bear branded runes upon their body allowing them spells of grand violence. They are taught never to unleash them but against the most ancient and hated of enemies. These men inscribe a terrible curse upon their bodies, so that in their death throes they may bring down the beasts. It takes paladins of considerable power and training to survive the rituals of supplication to Kyris, ancient spark of light, but those that do are devastating opponents to face upon the field of battle.
Political Influence & Intrigue
This Order dominates the political landscape of Staeloria. Powerful kings bend to their whim and seek their counsel, minor nobles seeking power ask for assistance in dispatching troubles. With the lack of true leviathans on Draguin, the warriors hone their skills on minor problems and issues as they arise.
Sects
The Inner Circle
The heights of leadership for the order, made up of its most trusted clerics and paladins. They are viewed with reverence and respect, many of them go on to become the philosophical foundations of kings and queens of Staeloria. The Penitent of the Venerated Elder
Few are the warriors whose lives are lived to their fullest, those that do survive into later age take on the role of healers and advisors. They are trusted council for those nobles willing to pay for such assistance. They oftentimes are hired out as generals of Staeloria to ensure victory on the battlefield
The Singers of Tales
The singers of ancient tales and knowledge keepers of the Order, they remember the dragonslayers, the heroes of their order and the finest shining examples of their faith The Blooded Hand
The Order of The Blooded Hand are led by those few who have encountered and slain a dragon. The Scions of this Order are valiant heroes, commanding small armies of more mercenary folk. Oftentimes for larger operations, the Order will hire mercenaries as a form of disposable infantry so that their paladins can close the distance. No blood is too sacred in the fight against the primordial evil. The Seekers of Light
The Seekers are an order dedicated to finding the lairs of Dragons. They provide intelligence, but are not to disturb the dragon in any way. To do so endangers their mission.
