Vigilant Universe

A Post-World War society where the existence of Superhumans has brought the world to war and ruin. The tone is horror and paranoia as the people battle the sins of the past and the new monsters that have emerged from the disasters, but seek to rebuild and forge a better world.    A semi-modern world much like our own but the First Superhuman World War has set them back societally, economically and technologically. The mere existence of Superhumans has set everything out of order as they transcend our understanding of science, unbalancing the worlds structure. Even the divisions and nature of countries and governments has been completely upended with new power structures continually emerging. The cost to the environment has been severe as all-out war between Superhumans is devestating to human society and to nature itself.   Their is frustration and anger over their existence, nobody has yet come to an understanding of how Superhumans came to be. Anyone can be granted powers and transform, any age, race, gender and culture. The transformation is, as far as anyone can tell, not biological in nature. Many report that prior to the change they received strange and troubling dreams where they were someone else in another life.   Before the war, great crimes were commited in the name of controlling the Superhumans; death camps, experimental research, brainwashing & military weaponisation were common practices and led to rebellion and the formation of many Superhuman terrorist organisations. With the War over there are still many secret facilities full of abused Superhumans and their human captors.   Many new organisations have grown from the War, Superhuman led corporations, Superhuman & Human diplomatic organisations attempting to rebuild and lay out new laws for co-existence, terrorists and freedom fighters fighting for liberation or control and groups of Superhumans fighting tooth and nail for a better world.
