Where the four elemental planes meet to clash and roil into a great calamitic churn, there exists the material plane. Long have planar scholars understood that it is this very meeting of primal fire, water, earth, and air that forms the underpinnings and foundation of the material plane's existence, but there is so much more to this Great Convergence than meets the eye. There is an... elegant balance, a perfect symmetry where the planes spiral inward, losing their identity as they blend into a roaring maelstrom of creation. Perhaps too perfect. The planes weave together so precisely with one another as to create the ideal recipe for the formation of the world materiel, whereas should one element be off by the slightest degree of cosmic alignment then surely any fledging composite plane would have been shredded in its planar nursery as a nascent existence. And stranger still, at the very center of this eerily exact elemental spiral, at the dimensional true center in the vast entirety of the material plane there lays a world where the elemental planes intersect to an infinitesimal degree; Veyrsrhea.   Forged from the heart of the Great Convergence, Veyrsrhea is an enchanted world blessed with infusions of the elements in the form of leylines. Where the elemental planes directly intersect into the material plane their very nature is eroded down to their most basic components, creating massive and overwhelmingly powerful leylines of raw arcane energy that spread equidistant over the world, carving it into regions. From these longitudinal leylines effuse countless smaller latitudinal leylines of elemental energy that managed to spill over into the material plane intact, scattering like ethereal rivers across the surface of the planet. These leylines great and small can be attuned to as seemingly endless geographical reservoirs of magical power, although the mighty arcane leylines would burn anything less than a demi-god who attempted attunement to ash the moment the attempt began. By contrast the 'latlines' have been sought by countless tribes, civilizations, and other powers to be understood and harnessed to countless ends. The elemental energies can enchant ore deposits, beasts, and even foster genasi children onto the mortal races. Many have fallen to their hubris trying to control these leylines, drinking too deep from the fonts of power, or from outsiders who sought to wrestle the power of the leylines away from those who jealously guarded them for their own machinations.   Veyrsrhea would be a rare jewel indeed in a celestial crown of stars for no more reason than its unique position in the cosmology of existence, but there is yet another oddity to this world; its hidden behind a veil of secrecy. The world is cloaked from prying eyes across the planes material or otherwise by the divine grace of the Summoner's Pact, a pantheon of 12 deities previously united to defend Veyrsrhea from a threat so all consuming that the very awareness of its true nature would somehow threaten its return, necessitating the all encompassing erasure of the enemy from mind and record alike. It is through these dual strategies that the Summoner's Pact ensures the continued safety and existence of the world's many peoples, though there will always be heretics who question in secret the righteousness and authority of the divine. To protect the mortal races from lesser threats that may arise while their celestial attention is turned outwards in careful sentry, the deities allow the greatest of mortal champions to summon their avatars onto the battlefield to defend the lesser realms against more worldly threats. Bereft of summons, these avatars are widely believed to walk the world concealed or otherwise, granting boons to their true devouts and tempting worshippers away from their rivals in a great game whose rules and goals stretch beyond mortal comprehension.   Elemental power attainable by the poorest of the low and Genasi born the world round; Divine encounters to brave and secrets to be dared; hidden histories where questions may cost your life and answers even more; Veyrsrhea is a world both ancient and new, ready to test the willing souls who seek to be more than Fate has ordained, who are bold enough to stand for their convictions, and grasp out for more than what life has offered.
